DAVID ROELOFS
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family
I’m generally a shy person, but I love people. I’m a builder and I also enjoy designing. I like creating things.
I have a wonderful wife, Nikki and have 2 little children.
2) What do you enjoy doing for recreation?
I like the outdoors, camping, the beach, kicking the soccer ball with the kids, and bike riding. I also like to read.
3) How has Jesus changed your life?
I was heading down the road of self-fulfilment, trying to find that evasive thing to give my life meaning. When I realised my biggest need was to have peace with God, I began to see the beauty of Jesus who filled that need. Now my desire is to live for Him, and although I often fail I know whatever the ups and downs of life I can trust Him now and for eternity.
4) What’s your favourite Bible verse? Why?
One of my favourite passages is John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” It’s such a great promise! Since I have come to Jesus in faith, He will never leave me or cast me away, but He preserves my faith till the end. It’s also a promise that Jesus is with us now and always, not just in eternity.
5) What excites you most about helping launch Aura Church?
Being part of a close-knit family of Christians, getting to know each other and doing life together, working together to show people that Jesus is the only way to God and that everlasting joy, and the fruit of that joy, is only to be found in Him.
